Growing up in a working-class family, he was exposed to a diverse range of musical influences, from traditional Irish folk to American jazz and blues. This eclectic mix would later shape his unique sound. In the early 1960s, Morrison formed The Belfast Cowboys, which eventually evolved into The Rynoceros, a band that gained a local following.
